GamerNode — Battlefield Hardline Hands-On Preview

“Over the last few years, EA has taken the Battlefield series and turned it into a fully-fledged yet stereotypical modern military shooter. Though successful, the fatigue that gamers are feeling thanks to a multitude of installments in this genre has EA believing that it’s time to change up the series once again. In a surprising twist, this change takes it into the realm of cops and robbers with Battlefield Hardline.”

Titanfall multiplayer to max out at 6v6

“While current FPS games such as Battlefield 4 are constantly trying to increase the amount of maximum players per game — the modern military shooter supports up to 128 players in a match on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One — Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall will be going in the opposite direction. In the interest of balance, the game will only host a dozen players in six-on-six contests.”

Battlefield 4 Review

“It’s become abundantly clear over recent years that modern or near-future military shooters of the first-person variety don’t place a high emphasis on story, especially when compared to their multiplayer components. In Battlefield 4, this trend hasn’t been bucked, only reinforced. But despite what I found to be yet another campaign lacking strong narrative, EA and DICE’s latest entry to the series takes its already addictive online action to new, awe-inspiring heights.”

Titanfall E3 2013 Preview

“Respawn Entertainment is looking to change the way gamers perceive multiplayer first-person shooters, moving beyond mindless action and plot neglect and infusing single-player elements into its multiplayer-only title, Titanfall. During E3 2013, I got a look at just how this team made up of Infinity Ward alums aims to use this method to change the way we look at shooting each other in the digital space.”

Destiny E3 2013 Preview

“If there’s one thing that Destiny showed me at E3 2013, it’s promise. Promise that the company is looking to take first-person shooter gameplay in a whole new direction and bring some much-needed innovation to the genre. The little taste that I got during Bungie’s hands-off demonstration didn’t do enough for me to immediately buy what they’re selling, but the game does have my curiosity and attention at this point.”
